Hardin Will Have An Interim HC the Remainder of 2016

Hardin and head coach Tod Stark Part Ways

After just a season and a half at the helm, Tod Stark has coached his last game at Hardin High School. The Hornets were off to an 0-5 start to the season and had lost those five games by an average of 30 points. HISD and Coach Stark agreed to part ways Wednesday afternoon. In 15 games at HHS Stark posted a 3-12 record. "I really felt like I needed a minimum of three years to really turn things around here. The kids have been great, they worked hard, but we just weren't winning enough. The community and school board felt like it was best to go in a different direction," said Stark who, prior to coming to Hardin, posted a 54-33 record in eight years at West Sabine, including an impressive 27-7 mark in his final three seasons in Pineland. Hardin will be under an interim head coach for the remainder of the season. The Hornets open up district play on October 7 at LaMarque. Expect Hardin to try to have a permanent hire made for their HFC/AD position by Thanksgiving.
