Cowboy's Six-Shooter — Six thoughts from Week 5 of six-man football
Six thoughts on six-man football from SixMania's Cowboy Parks.

We didn't expect to learn anything new this week — after all, it was Week 5, and most teams have shown us what they are capable of. Luckily, some teams shined more than usual. 1: I didn't think Happy was capable of surprising me again, but I was wrong. I already had them ranked at No. 1 in Division I, but the Cowboys' mercy-rule win over Crowell has me thinking they are the best six-man team in the state. 2: Iredell has intrigued me since their Week 3 battle with Gordon, so I made the two-hour drive to see how they would do against Gorman. The Dragons lost 68-60, but this is a very good — and young — team. The Dragons have a strong shot at a district trophy. 3: It seems like Ira is being overlooked this year, but the Bulldogs continue to take care of business. They have only played one full game so far, and there is a good chance they will go into district play undefeated. 4: Sterling City started the season with a loss to Happy, but have had no problem since. The Eagles crushed Hermleigh Friday, but this week won't be as easy — they face Richland Springs. 5: The past few years, I've called Avalon perennial underachievers. Far too often, the Eagles lost games they were expected to win. But this season, they seem to have found their stride. Their only losses were to Rockwall Heritage and Jonesboro — two of the best six-man teams in Texas. 6: The White Deer Bucks went 2-8 last season, but have shown massive improvement this year. They had a big win over Kress this week, but they will need the momentum when they face their next opponent, Follett. Cowboy's Top 5DIVISION I 1. Happy 2. Borden County 3. Jonesboro 4. Garden City 5. Sterling City DIVISION II 1. Richland Springs 2. Balmorhea 3. Calvert 4. Milford 5. Crowell
