Cowboy's Six-Shooter — Six thoughts from Week 4 of six-man football
Six thoughts on six-man football from SixMania's Cowboy Parks.

Week 4 didn't have the same type of excitement as its predecessor, but a few teams did surprise, both positively and negatively. Let's get to my six thoughts: 1: Throckmorton began this season ranked fairly low, but the Greyhounds have been improving all year. Jarrett Wigington seems to have given new life to the squad with his explosive runs. They are currently 1-3, but this team still bears watching. 2: A newcomer to six-man, Union Hill did reasonably well last year but many discounted their record because of their opposition. Friday night, the Bulldogs proved they can compete with an established six-man power with a 48-36 loss to highly ranked Strawn. Staying within two touchdowns of a team like the Greyhounds is a feat many teams couldn't accomplish. A second- and maybe third-round playoff appearance is possible for the Bulldogs. 3: Penelope hasn't had much success since their quarterfinal appearance in 2010, but it may be on its way back up. The Wolverines are 4-0 this season, and their district opponents are down or inconsistent. While not widely considered a threat, I think Penelope may quietly find its way into the playoffs. 4: Petersburg defeating Guthrie 58-51 was one of the biggest surprises of the week. The Buffs are always a solid team, but this was a huge upset. Hopefully this isn't a fluke win; Petersburg could be the type of team to shake things up. 5: While looking through season records and scores, I realized that I've been overlooking a quiet powerhouse: Jayton is currently undefeated, and hasn't played a full game this year, defeating every team by mercy rule. I'm not sure how far the Jaybirds will go in postseason play, but things are looking very good for them. 6: Coach Jack Shely seems to be doing something right at Veribest. At 2-0, he's already led the Falcons to their best win total since 2013. The big question, though: can he lead them into the playoffs? Cowboy's Top 5DIVISION I
