We love March Madness, but we also miss football, so we decided to go big and create an entertaining bracket of our own.

Greatest Texas high school football player: Sweet 16, Region 4

TXHSFBMarchMadnessWelcome to the G.A. Moore region, named for the state's all-time winningest head coach. The No. 1 seed in this region – Johnathan Gray – might have been the state's greatest player of the last 15 years had it not been for Kyler Murray. It won't be easy to knock Gray out of the region, but there are plenty of names here up to the challenge. Happy voting!   No. 1 Johnathan Gray (Aledo, 2008-2011) The future Texas Longhorn racked up 10,889 career rushing yards, 3 state titles, 65 and 59 touchdowns in a single season, good for top two all-time. As pass-heavy attacks became the norm, Gray was a slashing throwback on the ground. Eliminated: Priest Holmes, Graham Harrell.No. 4 Tommie Harris (Killeen Ellison, 1998-2000) It's easy to forget now, but Harris was erhaps the single-most dominant defensive player in state history while suiting up for the Eagles. Eliminated: Jerod Douglas, Jerry Gray. [poll id="88"] No. 11 Roy Williams (Odessa Permian, 1997-1999) Williams was a revelation in both size and skill, and was all-state in his junior and senior seasons, catching 100 passes for 2,364 yards and 30 touchdowns in three varsity seasons. Eliminated: Craig James, Tommy Nobis.No. 2 Earl Campbell (John Tyler, 1970-1973) Campbell converted from linebacker (and he was a pretty good one), and all he did was run for 2,224 yards in senior season, leading John Tyler to state title. It was just the beginning. Eliminated: Tyler Etheridge, Wes Danaher.   [poll id="89"] ELITE 8: Starts Monday.
