Happy voting!     No. 8 Vince Young (Houston Madison, 1998-2001) The pride of Houston Madison was the talk of Texas from 1998-2001, amassing 12,987 yards of total offense. The dual-threat quarterback capped it with an outrageous senior year in 2001, earning National Player of the Year honors for racking up 3,819 yards and 59 touchdowns. Eliminated: Lloyd Hill, Kyler Murray.No. 4 Thurman Thomas (Ft. Bend Willowridge, 1980-1983) Another Pro Football Hall of Famer who began his career as a superstar in Texas high school football, Thomas guided Fort Bend Willowridge to the 4A state championship in 1982, earning USA Today All-American honors along the way. Eliminated: Thomas Everett, Max McGee.   [poll id="86"] No. 3 Jessie Armstead (Dallas Carter, 1986-1988) The standout of the 1988 Dallas Carter defense (and that’s saying something), Armstead was a three-time All-American pick at the linebacker spot — the first player ever to do that — and guided the Cowboys to a state title. Eliminated: Jacquizz Rodgers, Malcolm Brown.No. 7  LaDainian Tomlinson (Waco University, 1993-1996) Another NFL MVP who began his career as a Texas high school football standout, Tomlinson ran for 2,554 yards and 39 touchdowns as a senior in 1996, earning All-State honors.
