Sure, it was against a top-flight defense in Oklahoma, and the TCU backup quarterbacks didn’t have Josh Doctston to throw to, but the Horned Frogs’ star was sorely missed. Foster Sawyer’s 97-yard-drive in the first quarter, capped off by a deep ball to Kolby Listenbee for six, turned out to be nothing but a tease. The redshirt freshman finished 8-of-18 for 107 yards and three picks. Certainly, Sawyer was just a kid going against one of the top teams in the country, but there’s no guarantee he’s going to keep TCU in the national title chase next year. Boykin's absence was everything.
