Georgia Southern 37, Texas State 13: What We Learned
Three key takeaways from the Bobcats' flop against the Eagles.

Texas State took a step in the wrong direction. Last week against South Alabama, the Bobcats looked promising. The offense was good, the defense was better and they had some swagger in their steps. But Thursday night against Georgia Southern, Texas State looked like a 2-5 team. The offense couldn’t sustain drives, the defense gave up too many big plays and the Bobcats looked beat from the start. If you’re looking for some good news, check out the lack of Texas State penalties and punter Lumi Kaba. Yellow flags have been an issue for the Bobcats, but they only committed two penalties for 20 yards against the Eagles. Kaba continued his stellar season, hitting two field goals and averaging 48.6 yards per punt. Everything else didn’t go so well.
