We're three weeks in to the 2015 Texas high school football season, and while there has been no shortage of stunning plays and staggering upsets, it's some of the numbers that have been most surprising. There's still a long way to go, but three weeks into the season, here are some of the most amazing numbers across the Lone Star State. -We knew Bells QB Derrick Ponder was going to put up some crazy statistics, but so far, he's averaging 377.3 passing yards per game and an amazing 9.6 yards per attempt. -Corpus Christi London is the only 11-man team in the state to not allow a point yet this season (though they've only played two games). Among teams that have played three games, Alba-Golden's defense is the stingiest — the Panthers have allowed just two points total (and obviously, it wasn't their fault). -Five players in Texas already have four interceptions on the season...and two of them are on the same team: Houston Christian DBs Michael Raitt and Matt Strickland have four picks a piece. -Four teams are 3-0 with average margins of victory of more than 50 points — Brock, Odessa Permian, Stratford and Bremond. -Talk about a workhorse: Wills Point running back Marques Crouch has already carried the ball 112 times in three games, averaging 5.5 yards per carry along the way. -So far, the highest-scoring game this season was Eastland's 64-62 win over Clyde in Week 2. The lowest-scoring games this season: Laredo Alexander 6, Laredo Nixon 0 ... and Shepherd 6, Cleveland 0.
