Morning Jolt (Aug. 7): Allen's Search for History
A look at the record for most consecutive wins in Texas high school football history.

This is the Morning Jolt, TexasFootball.com's wake-up call to get up and start thinking about football. Kyler Murray was a remarkable player; that's not up for dispute. His 42-0 mark as a starter helped fuel Allen's run to three consecutive 6A state titles, and the Eagles have now won 43 games in a row. But while Allen can catch some pretty heady company this season, they're still a long way from the record for all-time consecutive wins in Texas high school football history. Consecutive Wins Graph Celina's 1998-2002 squad still holds the top spot with a staggering 68 consecutive wins — that's what happens when you take home four straight titles. But a 7-0 start by Allen would make them just the second team in Texas high school football history to win 50 consecutive games.
