2015 Texas High School Football All-Name Team

Every year, as we work day and night to put together the annual summer edition of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, part of our work includes sorting through more than 1,200 questionnaires submitted by Texas high school football coaches. That’s where get the basic info for many of the high schools we preview in the bible of Texas football — things like returning starters, last year’s stats and, of course, the ever-important names of the top players. And it should be noted — with all due respect — that 99 percent of names are boring. They just are! My name is boring: Greg Tepper? Yawn. But when you’re putting together a 400-page magazine, and including something around 15,000 names of Texas high school football players, you’re going to find the one percent. You’re going to find some of the best names in the state. Life is a rich tapestry, and part of that tapestry is that Texas high school football has some of the best-named players in the world. And so, without further ado, we’re pleased to reveal the 2015 Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Texas High School Football All-Name Team! As an aside: It was a really tough year for the All-Name Team’s coaching staff. We lost our longtime head coach, Rusty Nail of Mart, and his top assistant, Maypearl’s Gordon Jordan. But we’re pleased to announce the new coaches of the Texas High School Football All-Name Team: Caldwell’s Bobby Jack Goforth and Chester’s Christopher Fudge! Here’s the rest of the All-Name Team…and if you have any other suggestions, let us know in the comments or on Twitter @DCTF!
