NCAA Recap: Week 2

Jimmy Isbell recaps the college action across the Lone Star State.

There were many ups and downs for Texas FBS teams, but the biggest loss was for Mack Brown’s Longhorns after an embarrassing loss to BYU, dropping out of the AP Top 25 from being previously ranked at No.15. The Longhorn defense had trouble stopping the rushing attack from quarterback Taysom Hill and company. BYU recorded a program record 550 rushing yards, while Hill ran for three touchdowns. A day after the loss, defensive coordinator Manny Diaz was fired.           The Roadrunners of UTSA, still in just their third year as a program fought hard against Oklahoma State, scoring 28 points in the fourth quarter, but came up short to the highly ranked Cowboys, 56-35.
