It really shouldn't come as any surprise, but Daingerfield's duo of QB Tyler Boyd and LB Steve Edmond swept the TSWA 2A Player of the Year awards for 2011, dominating the competition en route to their third consecutive state title. Edmond finished the year as arguably the best defensive player in all of Texas, ringing up more than 150 total tackle and 26 TFL. He went on to sign with the Longhorns. Boyd was equally productive on the other side of the ball, rushing for more than 1,000 yards and 18 TDs and passing for 2,846 yards and a ridiculous 45 touchdowns with just four interceptions. Boyd signed with Stephen F. Austin. Three other Daingerfield players were-first team selections, with WR/DB Keyarris Garrett being selected on both sides of the ball.
