The AP 4A all-state teams have just been announced, and this year's Offensive Player of the Year is Kerrville Tivy QB and Texas A&M pledge Johnny Manziel, who put together one of the best statistical seasons in recent memory in guiding his team to the second round of the postseason. Manziel never really had a bad — or even average — game this season, and week in and week out he put up some incredible performances — most notably in a non-district win against Cibolo Steele, which is playing for the 5A DII title this weekend. Mario Edwards, Denton Ryan's stellar junior defensive end, was awarded defensive POY honors, and deservedly so — Edwards is a huge reason why Ryan is pin position to win a 4A DI championship.
