Runner-ups for Games of the Week
WEEK 0We picked the "most memorable" game of the year, as well as the top game from every week, in the 2008 Winter Edition. Below are the other candidates we had to vote down.
Dallas Carter 13, Dallas Kimball 12 -- The "Oak Cliff Super Bowl" likely will produce a more memorable finish than whoever New England routs in the NFL final. Carter secured this win when QB Jarvis Phillips scored with no time on the clock.
Killeen 42, Killeen Ellison 41 (2OT) --Lightning delayed the start by an hour, but the electricity apparently never left. Killeen QB Alijawon White passed for over 200 yards to help Killeen take a 16-12 edge in the series.
Canutillo 34, EP Chapin 30 -- Trailing 31-20 with six minutes left, Canutillo QB Drew Norris led his team on consecutive scoring drives, while the defense came up with two three-and-outs to help Canutillo beat the top El Paso team in 4A the past two seasons.
