A little playoff roundup from DCTF staff writer Travis Stewart on some of Saturday's scores:
Well, obviously the biggest stunner of the day has got to be the way Southlake Carroll lost to Abilene - check out DCTF managing editor Jake Shaw's blog for more information. The Dragons know they should have walked away with a win, but we'll never know what could've have happened if Riley Dodge hadn't left the game with a shoulder injury. One of the state's other most well-known squads is also hitting the buses after Permian got smashed by Euless Trinity, 38-14.
Stratford QB Andrew Luck, one of the best players in 5A, is now gone as well after Fort Bend Clements squeaked out a 31-27 win, and when you pair the Rangers' victory with Hightower's last-second 24-21 win over Cy Ridge, it looks like Fort Bend county down in the Houston area isn't as weak as some thought.
