Despite predictions of falling as low as No. 5, the Longhorns opened at No. 2 in the first round of the BCS rankings. USC, as predicted, is 1st. Texas Tech grabbed a Top 10 spot at 7, and TCU came in at 21.
Virginia Tech came in at third, followed by three schools from the SEC: Georgia, Alabama and LSU, ranked 4th, 5th and 6th, respectively.
