TCU falls to Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl, 17-10; Reaction here

For those who watched last night, the TCU team that took the field against undefeated underdog Boise State at the Fiesta Bowl was not the same one that confidently trotted out 12 times before it. The result? A 17-10 loss in the Frogs' first-ever BCS bowl. Coach Gary Patterson said all the right things afertwards, but the hurt was obvious -- especially because the Frogs can easily point to what they needed to do better.

For a team that averaged more than 250 rushing yards per game in the regular season, not even eclipsing 40 yards on the ground was ultimately a killer. Not being able to rely on a consistent rushing attack forced this team to go to the air, putting it in both a multitude of third-and-longs (1-of-12 on the night) and forcing QB Andy Dalton to throw the ball 44 times, something he's not used to doing. The credit goes out to the Broncos, which defended these high-scoring Frogs perfectly. But Patterson said he was going to run the ball more in the second half to wear down the defense, and that just never seemed to happen.
