Three Likely to Sign
By now, recruiters have thinned out this position, but several accomplished players remain un-committed. Start with Vincent McNeil of Dallas Roosevelt, a player who embodies the attributes of former prep greats with which he shares his name, Vincent Young and Reggie McNeal. Roosevelt's McNeil, who led his team deep in the playoffs, has interest from major schools but still must get his qualification squared away. ... A similar dual-threat QB in Central Texas also needs a home, Killeen Ellison's Ivan Delgado. Ellison assistant coach Buddy McBride said Delgado has offers from SFA and Sam Houston but is waiting to hear back from Georgia Tech and Arkansas State. If neither comes through, McBride said SFA seems the likely destination for Delgado. ... South of Killeen is Kevin Smith in Seguin, a player with prototypical size (6-4, 210) who has thrown for more than 2,000 yards the past two seasons. West Texas A&M and Eastern NM are both pursuing Smith.
