Jeff Wentworth, a five-term Republican state senator from San Antonio who gained acclaim two years ago for authoring a bill making gay marriages illegal in Texas, is now focusing on a playoff for NCAA Div. I-A Football.
On Tuesday, Sen. Wentworth penned a bill that would prohibit Texas' NCAA teams from playing in "an intercollegiate post-regular-session competition that is part of a series that includes a national championship game unless that competition is part of a national playoff system."
