DIVISION I
REGION I & II PREMIER GAME
Burkburnett (9-1) vs. China Spring (11-0)
6 p.m. Saturday, Aledo We know about China Spring's offense. It returned one of the best all-around players from last season, WR/DB Mike Hicks, who has ensured a memorable senior season by averaging about 150 yards of offense per game (split almost evenly between rushing and receiving). And junior QB Brian Bell has made sure the passing game stayed healthy despite the graduation of QB Dustin Eskew, our pick for his region's MVP in 3A last year. But what we learned last week was that China Spring can ply a little defense, too. The 24-0 shutout of Burnet caught our eyes. Burnet had averaged more than 50 points per game in the previous two games and earlier in the season had scored 29 points against Liberty Hill's defense.
