Texas high school superintendents yesterday officially approved an additional playoff team in each district for the Class 5A and A football playoffs, beginning with the 2006-07 school year.
The additions of a fourth playoff team in Class 5A districts and a third team in Class A districts were then formally approved by Texas Education Commissioner Shirley Neeley.
