Humble Kingwood’s Jon LaCour was named the Overall Best Kicker at the 2005 Lone Star Kicking Challenge, which was completed on Friday at Texas A&M in College Station.
LaCour took home the Gold Medal in the Punting Competition and the Silver Medal in the Field Goal event. He was one of three kickers who made the finals in two events. Carrollton Creekview’s Kellis Cunningham won the gold in Kickoff and also placed 8th in the Punt, while A&M Consolidated’s Matt Szymanski was 3rd in punting and 6th in Kickoff.
