CLASS 5A's #24: Katy Cinco Ranch
2007 Preseason Ranking/Final Ranking: NR/NR
2007 Final Record/Playoff Finish: 5-6/
Why They're Ranked: Look at what Cinco Ranch did last time it was a senior-laden team. In 2006, CR went three rounds deep, winning a school-record 11 games along the way. Then came 2007, a year CR returned just two starters and played mostly inexperienced underclassmen. CR squeeked out a .500 regular season before falling in the first round to Cy Falls. This year, CR is now an experienced, veteran team. Keep an eye on Shane Ros -- wherever he is. Need help in the secondary? Ros will play DB. The QB, WR or RB needs a breather? Count on Ros to fill the void. He'll play so much, he'll likely need a break himself, though coach Donald Clayton will have a hard time pulling Ros from the field. And to think Ros joins 14 other starters returning. This is a deep team that could easily double its 2007 win total.
