Inside the 25: 23rd-ranked Eisenhower a collection of Division I talent

Editor's Note: "Inside The 25" counts down the '08 preseason top 25 rankings in all five 11-man classifications, taking a closer look at each team in the rankings, starting from No. 25 and working down to the No. 1 teams in each classification.

CLASS 5A's #23: Aldine Eisenhower
2007 Preseason Ranking/Final Ranking: NR/NR
2007 Final Record/Playoff Finish: 8-4/DI area finalists
Why They're Ranked: We can't comment on overall depth, but we feel safe when saying no team in the state boasts more star-quality players than Eisenhower. Start with Super Team defensive MVP Craig Loston, a safety with size and speed who also might be the best return man in the state. He'll likely play as much as 50 percent of the offensive snaps as well. Eisenhower also has a Super Team WR (Greg Timmons), another receiver (Jazz Reynolds) who made the Top 300, a Top 20 QB (Kenny Guiton), a Texas Top 300 RB (Curtis McGregor), and two Dl (Marcus Thompson and Drew Moore) who combined for 33 sacks last year. Phew. Making sure all that talent meshes is top priority for Ray Evans, promoted to head coach in the offseason. If chemistry becomes this team's strength, it has the chance to be the best team in Region III..audio_b{background:#FEFFEC; border:1px solid #E5E7BF; padding:3px; font-size:10px; font-family:verdana; width:220px; text-align:center; float:right; margin-left:4px;}
