Like every Mack Brown class, where do we begin? Let's see ... Texas signed: the top-rated defensive end in the state, Pflugerville's Alex Okafor; the top-rated offensive lineman in the state, Mason Walters of Wolfforth Frenship, a center in high school who could play any spot on the line for UT; the top-rated ATH in the state, Chris Whaley, a massive RB who will benefit from Texas' instability at the position; the top-rated WR in the state, Greg Timmons; and, as everyone likely knows, the top-rated QB in Texas, a player we'll address in due time. Each of the aforementioned candidates has the potential to play right away. ... While Brown doesn't know the word "JUCO," it hasn't prevented him from getting high school recruits on campus in January, a time other schools often bring in junior college transfers. Eight of Texas' signees were already in Austin by signing day, including Walters and Okafor, so each of those players has a leg up on the fellow incoming freshmen.
