Colt McCoy has left the 2007 building
DCTF’s Take: Whatever happened to Colt McCoy in 2007 has officially upped and left -- last season's errant passing and questionable decision-making have reformed themselves into uncanny accuracy and galvanizing poise, and the junior's four touchdown passes were more than enough to guide the Horns past the overmatched Miners in El Paso Saturday night. One play in particular stands out -- facing a heavy rush, McCoy scrambled to his right to avoid the defenders crashing in, then abruptly spun over his left shoulder, reversed field, and calmly floated a pin-point 12-yard touchdown pass to true freshman Dan Buckner to give UT all the points it would need. Like last year, the Longhorns' pass defense surrendered plenty of yards, but it already looked better than in last week's game, and if the young guns' progression keeps up at this rate, UT could be erasing bitter 2007 memories come the season's end.
