Texas manhandles overmatched Missouri
DCTF's take: This game was never close. Texas QB Colt McCoy has officially become not only the nation's favorite surrogate son but the hands-down favorite in the race for the Heisman trophy. Wasn't this game supposed to be a back-and-forth shootout? Well, Texas gave us the back and Tigers could never provide the forth -- RB Chris Ogbonnaya and WRs Quan Cosby and Jordan Shipley again looked like standout playmakers while DE Brian Orakpo took another strong step towards NFL draftee status. At this point, you have to wonder if Texas could lose again this season. With Missouri and Oklahoma out of the way, the only other obstacles would be Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and the Big 12 title game -- which would likely be a rematch with Missouri.
Tech need second half-effort to top A&M
DCTF's take: For at least 30 minutes, Tech looked like it was running the risk of becoming this weekend's upset special. Down 23-20 at the half and battling penalties and turnovers, the Raiders quickly collected themselves after the break and held the hapless Aggies to just 32 offensive yards and two points in the final two frames. Tech still just hasn't shown us that it's the dominant team it was predicted to be in the preseason, and with Oklahoma, Texas and Oklahoma State all making significant strides towards BCS contention, it might not do it at all.
