Tech running game breaks out vs. A&M
Texas Tech has started a game this season with a running play before, but Saturday was the first time they kept the ball on the ground for the first three plays. The play calling was a sign of how Tech planned to attack Texas A&M, and the Red Raiders finished with a season-high 29 running plays in their 35-7 victory over the Aggies at Jones AT&T Stadium.
Shannon Woods was the benefactor of most of the running calls, posting season-highs in carries (21) and yards (93). Woods' production doubled his usual output, as his previous best this season was 12 carries at Oklahoma State. His season high in yards was 75 at Rice.
