5A Games to Watch: Katy travels to North Shore to open season with a bang

Top Class 5A Game to WatchNo. 9 Katy (0-0-0) at No. 4 Galena Park North Shore (0-0-0)
The ultimate clash of the titans -- last year's 5A DII champion traveling to a stadium that hasn't seen its home team lose a regular season game in close to eight years. The power drain at both programs over the offseason was considerable: Katy lost Bo Levi Mitchell (SMU), Trent Hunter (A&M), Eric Ball (Rice), Aundre Dean (UCLA), Terrence Frederick (A&M) and Ryan Doerr (South Carolina) all to DI institutions, while North Shore is living without Chase McEntee (Fresno State), Jeremiah McGinty (Kilgore) and Chris Riser (Blinn). That said, both of these programs have a sterling reputation for consistently fielding state championship-caliber teams, and 2008 should be no exception.
