GAMES TO WATCH:
Denton Ryan at Richardson Pearce: Denton Ryan, 64-36
Well, we predicted a shootout, and that's exactly what we got. The difference is that Pearce simply could not keep pace with Denton Ryan and star quarterback Scotty Young, who threw six touchdown passes for the second consecutive week. He was lifted after three quarters, which means this season he now has 12 TD passes in five quarters of action. Unbelievable. Of course, we all knew Young had the potential to be a record-breaking quarterback after he challenged Graham Harrell's single-season TD record last year. The other guy to keep an eye on is Young's favorite receiver, Bud Sasser. He had nine catches for 157 yards and four TDs against Pearce, and you have to think he has the chance to set some records along with Young this season. Pearce wide receiver Blake Jumonville also had a huge game with 10 catches for 232 yards and two touchdowns, but Pearce will need to shore up its defense if it hopes to beat a team of Ryan's caliber.
