All season long, Muleshoe QB Wes Wood has been chasing history.
Back in the 2003 season, former Ennis QB Graham Harrell threw 67 touchdown passes, a single-season state record; Wood (along with 4A Denton Ryan's Scotty Young) spent the entire 2008 campaign in hot pursuit of that number. At the beginning of Week 15, he needed just seven to tie Harrell's total. Ultimately, he fell just short (he threw 64, good enough for third); instead, he won a state title and, now, the 2A AP Offensive Player of the Year Award.
