Apparently, setting the sate's all-time touchdown record means a lot to sports writers. Cayuga RB Traylon Shead has won the 1A AP Offensive Player of the Year award for the second season in row, and though his numbers are merely a shade of what he's done the past two seasons, the Texas-pledge will still finish his career this weekend as the state's second all-time leading rusher and tops in career touchdowns. He got a lot of help from Malcome Kennedy this season, who finished as an honorable mention at quarterback. And a Canadian player took Defensive POY honors for the second year in a row, too -- last year it was LB Jed Rankin, and this season it was Ryan Alexander, a junior who excelled at rushing the passer.
